This is the second of four volumes on climate change.
Climate change - the significant variations in weather patterns that occur over long periods of time - is a challenging area of study for climatologists, not least because there are so many interrelated factors that affect the earths climate. Consequently there is an ever-present need to carry out more observations, to improve general methods of data acquisition and interpretation, and also to continue working on developing robust, descriptive climate models.
The four volumes in this book focus on several broad topic areas: climate modeling; feedback mechanisms and cycles involved in climate change; the ecological, socioeconomic, agricultural and health-related effects of climate change occurring in the world today; and the research being undertaken to mitigate and/or adapt to the effects of climate change.
The broad scope of this book means that it is of interest to anybody studying or working in the geosciences or atmospheric/ocean sciences, as well as ecology, economics, sociology and political/health science.
