Gross anatomy of head and neck has been given in detail. Steps of dissection have been put in blue boxes marked Dissection (the lines of skin incisions are shown in illustrations). The book thus imparts both theoretical and practical knowledge to the readers. Clinical anatomy is given at the end of each chapter with many points illustrated with simple diagrams: This way one learns the gross anatomy first and then easily correlates it with the clinical anatomy.
Section 1 covers Head and Neck in Chapters 1-20. Appendix with it comprises parasympathetic ganglia, tables of the arteries, clinical terms, clinicoanatomical problems, multiple choice questions, mnemonics and references for further reading.
Section 2 deals briefly with Brain (Chapters 21-29); Chapter 24 exclusively deals with cranial nerves and their clinical anatomy. Various surfaces, lobes, sulci, gyri and important areas are also delineated in the attached CD.
Section 3 effectively covers other human body regions, i.e. upper limb, thorax, abdomen, pelvis and lower limb. Each region is discussed in one chapter only giving clinically relevant details.
Section 4 includes topics of importance for dental students: Clinical procedures, genetics and embryology. Embryology is given in two parts: General embryology mentioned briefly and embryology of head and neck described adequately.
